Amazon PPC in 2026: Structure Campaigns for Profitable Scale

Amazon advertising rewards structure. The accounts that scale profitably in 2026 aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets — they’re the ones whose campaigns are organised so every dollar has a job and every result is readable.

Separate discovery from harvesting

Run two distinct campaign types. Discovery campaigns (broad, auto, and category targets) exist to find new converting search terms. Harvesting campaigns (exact-match, single-keyword) exist to own the terms discovery proves out. Mixing the two makes your data unreadable and your bids blunt.

One theme per campaign

Group keywords by intent and theme, not by convenience. A campaign should answer a single question — “how do exact-match branded terms perform?” — so when ACOS moves, you know exactly what moved it.

Bid to your target ACOS, not your ego

Set bids from the break-even ACOS for each product, then adjust toward your target profit. High-margin hero products can afford aggressive bids to defend rank; thin-margin items should be pruned hard. The goal is blended profitability, not a low ACOS on a spreadsheet.

Weekly rhythm beats daily panic

Check search-term reports weekly: promote proven converters into exact-match, negate the wasters, and let the rest gather data. Daily bid-fiddling starves campaigns of the statistical signal they need.

  • Promote converting terms to their own exact-match campaign.
  • Negate terms that spend past 1.5× your target ACOS with no sales.
  • Reallocate budget toward campaigns beating target, away from those missing it.

Structure is the strategy

Once the architecture is right, scaling is mostly a matter of feeding budget into what already works. That’s how you grow spend without growing chaos.
